Porini Amboseli Camp is a shining example of low-impact, sustainable tourism. Powered entirely by solar energy and constructed using eco-friendly materials, the camp is designed to leave no lasting footprint on the land—so much so that, with a few rains, nature would reclaim the space within weeks if the camp were ever moved.

    Insider tips

Porini Amboseli Camp is small and is on the lines of the traditional luxury safari camp, but with more comfortable bathroom arrangements than were available to the big game hunters of earlier years.
And as Selenkay Conservation Area is a private game reserve, you will not see any other vehicles or minibuses.
Visit a local Maasai village with camp guides for an authentic cultural experience, learning about traditions that have coexisted with wildlife for centuries.

    Location Details

Directions to Porini Amboseli Camp (PAC) from Nairobi via the Namanga Road.

Take the A104 Athi River to Namanga road, and just before you reach Kajiado, after “Enchula Resort” you turn left onto a fully tarmacked road signposted “Imaroro D524” that connects to the C102 Emali to Loitokitok road.

Call the Porini Camp manager while at this T-junction. Drive on this highway straight for about 83km and once you go through Selengei ‘town’ you will see a dirt road turning to the right with green stone signs saying Selenkay Conservancy 12km.

You will turn right onto this dirt road and you will see the Porini 4×4 and guide waiting here as you come off the tarmac, to direct you directly to camp.

Note and recommended: You can join the A104 Athi River to Namanga Road via the Ngong Road to Kiserian (or from Langata Galleria Mall side through Ongata Rongai to Kiserian),and then on to Isinya. This avoids any traffic due to the current road works on the Mombasa Road and Waiyaki Way and is a new very good highway.
