Nungwi Dreams by Mantis places sustainability at the heart of its operations, focusing on environmental responsibility and community upliftment. The resort implements water-saving and waste-reduction initiatives, sources local produce to reduce its carbon footprint, and supports regional suppliers. With 90% local employment, it empowers the surrounding community through job creation and skills development. In line with Mantis and Accor’s Planet 21 sustainability framework, the resort protects local flora and fauna, uses environmentally responsible landscaping practices without herbicides or pesticides, and promotes ethical, conservation-led tourism. Through community partnerships, local entertainment, and support for Zanzibar made products, Nungwi Dreams ensures tourism delivers meaningful benefits to the local community while enriching the guest experience

Insider tips

For the most immersive Zanzibar experience, we recommend a Sea-View or Beachfront room. These offer uninterrupted Indian Ocean views, sea breezes, and privacy—ideal for honeymooners and couples seeking a tranquil, romantic setting from sunrise.
Our SkyBar is a guest favorite. Arrive 30–45 minutes before sunset to enjoy panoramic views over Nungwi while our team serves crafted cocktails. It’s the perfect setting for couples and solo travelers to unwind and connect in a refined atmosphere.
Nungwi Dreams combines seclusion with access to local culture. We suggest balancing pool & beach relaxation with curated excursions such as dhow cruises or snorkeling arranged by our team to ensure comfort, safety and an authentic Zanzibar experience

Location Details

Getting to Nungwi Dreams by Mantis is simple and straightforward. Guests arrive at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) in Zanzibar, where the resort can arrange a private transfer directly to the hotel. The drive to Nungwi, located on the northern tip of the island, takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. The route passes through local towns and coastal areas, offering a relaxed introduction to the island. Taxis are available at the airport; however, we recommend pre-arranged hotel transfers for comfort, safety, and ease, especially for first-time visitors. Guests staying elsewhere on the island or arriving via Stone Town can also reach the resort by road transfer. Once you arrive, our team will welcome you to a peaceful beachfront setting overlooking the Indian Ocean, marking the start of your stay.
