The fabulous and wise Justin, together with his awesome guides such as Engelbert, run such a neat little fly camp in a quieter area along the river, where animals have the right of way Accommodation is basic, but super comfortable, with the best showers in the whole of Africa. The food delicious, camp ambience tranquil - so much so the elephant and buffalo seem to enjoy it too. It’s hard to imagine the entire camp is run by a great bunch of men – a job they’re doing so well. Mana Pools rocks.

I love the fact that Machaba employ families, and you can see the staff are happy and they stay at the camps for many years. Their camps are luxurious but not over the top which I feel makes it a great choice for most of my clients. Small things make a huge difference like enough light to do your make-up and the fact that they went out of off their way with all the different diet requirements amongst the team. I had some of the best food I have ever had at the camps! The guides are well trained- I have never been so close to animals without feeling anxious or stressed. Approach walking up to an Elephant bull was a special experience that I will not easily forget! I highly recommend Machaba Safaris for a Zimbabwe safari.

When you’re interacting with Machaba Safaris, it’s like you’re interacting with your family – everyone from the house keepers, to the camp manager, the fantastic guides, to the res team, to the sales team to the management team – there’s a sense of family and belonging. No question is a silly one, special requests or waivers are always given proper consideration, little touches pop up here and there that warm your heart. Really great company to work with.
