Kandili Camp is committed to responsible tourism that supports conservation, community development, and environmental stewardship in the Masai Mara. The camp is an eco-friendly operation; we take maximum care of the environment and its people, without compromising the comfort of its guests. We work hard to ensure this little piece of paradise is preserved. To do this, we have several programs. Solid water and waste management, renewable energy solutions, and solar power are our principal focus. We have reduced single-use plastics, with the goal of eliminating it by 2028. Conservancy rangers patrol the area, and strict policies are enforced to protect habitats. Employment is mainly from the local Maasai Mara region, and many of the staff have been recruited and trained from scratch. Revenue through bed night fees and a lease go to the local community. We guarantee Maasai landowners’ revenue through the lease of their land, which in turn preserves an essential natural corridor for the abundant wildlife to roam as they please. The whole community also benefits from schooling and other projects. The camp buys locally, where possible, and supports local industry.
