Hamilton House takes a considered approach to sustainability, with solar power supporting the house and a kitchen garden providing fresh herbs, vegetables and seasonal produce for our chefs. The garden also includes beehives and chickens, providing honey and fresh eggs for the kitchen.

Where possible, we source locally and work with a predominantly Kenyan team. We also keep waste and single-use plastics to a minimum, while ensuring that sustainability remains quietly integrated into the everyday running of the house.

Insider tips

The house offers the privacy and character of a private home with the service of a luxury property. As an exclusive-use property, guests have the house, gardens and facilities entirely to themselves.
Hamilton House is designed to be part of the Nairobi experience, not simply a base. Guests can enjoy a leisurely day at the house, from breakfast in the rose garden and time by the pool to afternoon tea, spa treatments and sundowners in the garden.
The service is tailored to each group, with flexible dining, menus, timings and in-house experiences arranged around individual preferences. This allows guests to enjoy Nairobi at their own pace, with everything taken care of at the house.
