    Insider tips

The camp itself is pitched on an island along the shores of a permanent lagoon, all but hidden amid the boughs of indigenous leadwood and ebony trees. This is a landscape of tawny grasslands interwoven with shimmering channels, where ancient woodland and ilala palm-islands speak to the passage of time in this utterly timeless landscape. This is one of the most unique wetland areas in the world, unchanged for centuries, and, regarding by those in the know as one of the best safari destinations there is.
The sister camp to Duke’s Camp, it delivers the same Bousfield style and distinguishing characteristics, with the added option of becoming an exclusive-use camp for family and friends to enjoy. Overflowing with all the same adventure, this is some serious safari panache in an unfiltered African wilderness. You’ll discover four spacious tents set beneath a canopy of ebony and leadwood trees. Each offering an unforgettable under-canvas hideaway pitched in the remote wilderness area located on a channel of the northern Okavango Delta.
Meals are enjoyed under the shade of the giant ebony trees or in the communal dining tent. Guests gather to trade tales of their days in the wilderness or admire the cabinets of curiosities filled with Africana and collectables gathered by the Bousfield family through generations of African travel.

Dukes and Duke’s East are the sister camp to Jack’s, but instead of sitting on open salt pans, Dukes and Dukes East are nestled into the Delta, around a 40mins drive from North Island, outside of the private concession. Despite the location being in what would be seen as a busier area, we still saw no other vehicles and had a wonderfully private experience. The decor and design is much the same as Jack’s but fits beautifully into the Delta environment and have a huge variety of activities for guests such as mokoro trips, boat safaris, helicopter flights or spending a night fly-camping on a remote, lantern lit island. What stood out here for us was our guide… Desmond was a total star and knew more than any encyclopaedia but delivered his knowledge in such a humble and engaging way. He is a testament to the Uncharted camps and to Natural Selection and we feel very lucky to have met him
