    The highlight of visiting Gonarezhou National Park are the Chilojo Cliffs, which are typically accessible during a full-day activity that includes an early start, brunch by the river, and lunch overlooking the cliffs, as they are a 3 1/2-hour drive from the lodge, requiring a minimum stay of 3 to 4 nights; however,to truly experience the Cliffs and possibly hike up the face of the cliffs on an old elephant path with your guide, consider extending your stay by adding a few nights of fly-camping into the itinerary.
    Gonarezhou is one of the best-managed national parks in Zimbabwe, thanks to a joint collaboration between Zimbabwe Parks and the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust, which is funded by the Frankfurt Zoological Society. The variety of game and healthy wildlife numbers thrive in this wild and authentic environment, where you’ll encounter very few tourists or vehicles, making it a truly special and one-of-a-kind experience.
    Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge embodies community-led tourism, offering an authentic experience where visitors are taken by the Head Gardener to his private homestead for a unique presentation on historic hunting skills, salt extraction, coffee-making, and survival techniques in the bush, allowing them to meet his family and learn about the various roles in their society through an engaging and humorous interaction, before their guide introduces them to a palm-wine tapping experience, another traditional practice authentic to the Shangaan tribe and the region.
