At Camp Canoe, we are committed to making thoughtful choices that minimise our environmental impact while supporting the community around us. We have eliminated single-use plastic throughout the camp and use toxin-free cleaning products wherever possible. We also operate a Bio-Disk wastewater treatment system, allowing us to manage our sewage responsibly and with minimal environmental impact. We support local businesses wherever possible, with almost 100% of our suppliers and services sourced locally. Our commitment to community extends beyond the camp itself. We proudly sponsor the Languedoc rugby team, providing their full kit for the season, and have supported a local Languedoc girl through a charity initiative that helped make it possible for her to attend university abroad. Each winter, we also open the doors of Camp Canoe to members of our surrounding community, giving them the opportunity to experience the camp, and regularly donate sponsored stays to charities and fundraising initiatives. For us, sustainability is not simply about how we operate, but about being part of, investing in, and giving back to the community we are fortunate to call home.

Insider tips

Guests have spotted a Cape genet at night while relaxing in the private wood-fired hot tub.
The hammocks on the wooden deck offer some of the best views over the Winelands.
Personal touches like marshmallows left in the tent add a special detail to the stay.
